Men rob resident of jewellery

A woman was heading home from a petrol station when a man surprised her at her gate with a firearm.

Bernard Road in Morning Hill, Bedfordview, was hit with a house robbery on January 6 at 1pm.

According to the Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabati, a woman was heading home from a petrol station when a man surprised her at her gate with a firearm.

“The suspect grabbed the woman out of her vehicle and pushed her inside the house. Another armed man emerged with the resident’s gardener, whom he locked up in the bathroom of the house,” said Sgt Nhlabati.

The men proceeded to steal jewellery. The gardener managed to escape through the bathroom window, noticed the robbers were gone and alerted the police.
