An alert off-duty member of Mamba’s Special Operations Unit helped the SAPS catch a man trying to sell a stolen tablet on Saturday last week.
Acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts said the officer contacted the SAPS when he saw the deal taking place.
“When officers arrived, they found the man in possession of a brand new tablet device. We are still investigating where the device was stolen from,” said Lt Col Roberts.
The man was arrested on charges of being in possession of suspected stolen property.
He appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Monday last week.
“Well done to the officer for being alert,” said Lt Col Roberts.
