Man arrested for rape

A man was arrested for rape by the Jeppe SAPS on Wednesday.

Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said a woman alleged that she went home, in Kimberly Road, Bertrams, drunk. She fell asleep on what she thought was her sister’s boyfriend’s bed.

She said she had clothes on but when she woke up she was naked. “She found the suspect, who was not her sister’s boyfriend, also naked. There was a used condom lying on the floor. When she asked him what had happened, the suspect did not respond. She then went to the police station and opened a case,” said W/O Munyai.

The man was arrested and charged. He will appear in the Jeppe Magistrate’s Court soon.
