Rugby festival provides opportunities

Three development teams will participate in the festival. Two of the teams will be selected by the Golden Lions and the third team is St Benedict’s-supported Orchards Primary School.

The upcoming St Benedict’s Preparatory U/13 Rugby Festival scheduled to take place from February 27 to March 1 is positioned as the largest for Junior School Rugby in the Province.

The key focus is to support transformation in rugby and develop the skills of previously disadvantaged children.

St Benedict’s Preparatory School has, since 2010, provided the opportunity to underprivileged rugby players from local communities to participate and compete in its rugby festival, allowing the boys exposure to top local traditional and visiting schools from other provinces.

St Benedict’s Prep, together with the help from generous sponsors, provide full match kit, transport, team photographs, coaching clinics facilitated by the Golden Lions players, daily meals and player’s packs to all players of the three developments teams during the festival. The Golden Lions have committed to supporting and endorsing the festival and will actively be involved before and during the festival. The school has been extremely fortunate to receive generous donations from sponsors, old and new.

Parents, friends and business associates are invited to attend the festival in support of all the lads.
