Crime awareness campaign to be held

The purpose of the event is to inform and educate the community on the different services offered and to ensure residents make informed decisions.

The Jeppe SAPS, in partnership with the Johannesburg Housing Company (JHC), will host a crime awareness campaign at the space next to the Baptist Church in Troyeville on March 8.

The purpose of the event is to inform and educate the community on the different services offered and to ensure residents make informed decisions.

Different organisations have been invited so they can assist in the eradication of crime within the community. Organisations can contribute by being available on the day and to distribute pamphlets or educate the community on their services.

People are invited to be part of the awareness campaign and organisations will be given a stall to exhibit their work to the community. Organisations must bring their marketing material and gazebo’s on the day.

“We need the support of organisations and individuals to be part of the event and together, we can eradicate the social ills in our community,” said Ms Mmatshepo Morokolo, the community development officer for the Johannesburg Housing Company (JHC).
