Festival creates platform for local talent
The festival will take place in the hall at St Chad’s Anglican Church, situated at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Third Street on Edenvale.
The Edenvale Acting and Drama Society (EADS) will host two weeks of drama and it has invited all residents to join in.
The 19th Annual High School Drama Festival will take place from Monday, May 19, to Saturday, May 24, with the finals taking place on Friday, May 30.
The festival will take place in the hall at St Chad’s Anglican Church, situated at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Third Street on Edenvale.
Curtain up will be at 7.30pm every evening.
This year, 17 schools including Edenglen High School, Edenvale High School, Jeppe High School for Boys and defending champions St Benedict’s College, will fight it out through 18 plays.
The society section of the festival will run from Monday, May 26, to Thursday, May 29, with the finals taking place on Saturday, May 31.
Ticket prices are R10 each during the performance week and R20 a ticket for the final night.
Seasonal tickets are also available at reduced rates.
Edenvale businesses are invited to either sponsor the festival or place an advert in the festival programme.
