Fatima Pilgrimage to take place

This pilgrimage will start at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, located at the corner Geldenhuis and Mullins roads in Malvern East at 6.:30pm.

Hundreds of Catholics will take to Johannesburg’s streets as part of the Fatima Pilgrimage on May 10.

The pilgrimage celebrates the apparition of Our Lady to three shepherd children in the hamlet of Fatima in Portugal.

This pilgrimage will start at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, located at the corner Geldenhuis and Mullins roads in Malvern East at 6.:30pm.

It will end with Holy Mass at the Schoenstatt Shrine at the corner of Van Buuren and Florence roads in Bedfordview.

The co-convenor of the pilgrimage, Mr Manny de Freitas, said the Fatima five Saturdays will be instituted.

The five Saturdays will start on the first Saturday of each month from June to October.

Interested people are invited to recite the rosary at 4.30pm on June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6 and October 4 at the Schoenstatt Shrine in Bedfordview.
