Women arrested

Three women were arrested by the Jeppe SAPS in Bertrams on March 27 in connection with an armed robbery.

Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said a woman claimed she was walking on Terrace Road when she was approached by three women.

“One of the women produced a knife while another had pepper spray. The women assaulted the victim and took her cellular phone. She ran to her house but they followed her,” said W/O Munyai.

The women apparently continued to assault the victim but she eventually managed to contact the SAPS.

The suspects, aged 23, 25 and 30, were arrested and charged with armed robbery and assault.
