Luyanda coping well after kidnapping

The father of 10-year-old Luyanda Lerato Radebe said he is pleased with the progress his daughter has made since her return home.

In a story published in the January 14 edition of the EXPRESS, Luyanda went missing outside her Malvern home. She went missing on December 19.

She was found five weeks later in Sangweni, Tembisa, under the care of Tembisa Welfare. This was after weeks of searching for her. Her parents eventually saw her photo in a daily newspaper and contacted Tembisa Welfare.

Her father is happy things are back to normal. “She is adjusting well after the ordeal she went through. She has not been able to remember what happened before she went missing. She is back at school with other children,” said Mr Samuel Radebe, Luyanda’s father. He said Luyanda spends more time indoors since her return home.

“We are happy to be with her. It is something we have come to appreciate,” said Mr Radebe.
