Two robberies in one day

A domestic worker was sweeping the floor to the front door of her employer's residence when she saw two men approach her. The two men had firearms pointed at the woman and forced her back inside the house

The Bedfordview community was struck with house robberies on Thursday, April 3.

The first incident took place on Douglas Road in Bedfordview during the morning of April 13.

According to the Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, a woman was sleeping in her bedroom when she woke up to two men with a firearm pointed at her.

The men instructed the woman to give them cash and jewellery.

“The men started searching the drawers and found what they were looking for. The men put all the items into a bag, locked the woman in a room and fled. No shots were fired during the robbery,” said Sgt Nhlabathi.

The second incident took place on Pine Road during the late evening.

A domestic worker was sweeping the floor to the front door of her employer’s residence when she saw two men approach her. The two men had firearms pointed at the woman and forced her back inside the house. Her hands were tied with black cables and the suspect demanded that the woman lie down. The men proceeded to search the house and when they heard a car outside the house, they fled the scene.

Investigations are on-going with both incidents.
