Joint operation yields no results

A joint operation in search of a dagga plantation in Bruma between the Cleveland SAPS, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) and other officials yielded no results.

The operation was planned and conducted following information provided by former councillor, Ms Alison van der Molen.

“Ms Van der Molen informed us about a dagga plantation apparently on the Queen’s wetlands. The operation was held on March 27.

“Officers and other officials spent about two and a half hours searching but found nothing. They searched a large area,” said Sergeant Marius Boolsen, from the JMPD.

He said the news of the operation ‘may have travelled’ and the dagga was removed before the officials arrived.

Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said the area will be closely monitored.
