Comment on rates policy

Residents have until April 30 to comment on the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) 2014/15 rates and taxes draft policy.

Region E residents can view the policy tonight, April 15, at the Ernest Ullman Park Recreational Centre located at 1 Alna Street in Gallo Manor, Sandton, from 6pm to 8pm.

Region F residents can view the policy tomorrow night at Eureka House in Wemmer Pan, which is located at the corner of Marlborough and Rosettenville roads from 6pm to 8pm.

Residents can comment orally on the proposed policy at these meetings.

Mr Stanley Maphologela, the spokesperson for Group Finance in the CoJ, said ratepayers and interested parties were invited to be involved in the drafting of the 2014/15 rates policy previously.

April has been set aside for the second phase of the process, which is the viewing of the updated draft policy.

Residents can visit www.joburg.org.za to view the draft policy as well.

Written comments can be e-mailed to RatesComment@joburg.org.za or faxed to 011 727-0189.
