The sky is the limit for Clive
When asked what his strengths are that will give him a competitive edge in this year’s Mr South Africa competition, Mr Maistry responded said he is an optimistic individual who is motivated and self-driven.
Mr Clive Maistry, a Bedfordview resident, media personality and the managing director of Clive Maistry Live has been selected to take part in the Mr South Africa 2014 competition.
Mr Maistry, who has been in the media and entertainment industry for 10 years, hopes to use this platform to become an inspiration to the youth who may wish to follow in his footsteps.
According to the former Supersport, 5FM presenter and Face of Desired Spirit winner 2014, “It has always been a passion of mine to one day take part in the Mr South Africa competition. I do see myself as a role model and an inspiration because I have come so far in my life to get where I am. Doing this can help me touch lives and reach out to the youth who have not been able to find their path in life yet.”
When asked what his strengths are that will give him a competitive edge in this year’s Mr South Africa competition, Mr Maistry responded said he is an optimistic individual who is motivated and self-driven.
“People have always described me as a charismatic person with much ambition, and I am good at communicating with people,” he said.
“I would like to win because I think the competition is an amazing platform that puts South Africa further on the map. If I were to win, the message it would convey is, so can you,” said Mr Maistry.
The Mr South Africa competition will short-list the top 50 candidates in the country in April.
“The competition has not been easy so far. The challenges given to us on this incredible journey have been carefully thought through to challenge our key strengths and leadership skills, while also putting our entrepreneurial skills to the test,” said Mr Maistry.
When asked about his plans after the competition, he said, “I started my own company in 2010, after leaving Supersport, because I told myself I would like to write my own pay-cheque. That is something I would like to inspire and instil in South African youth. If you do not like your circumstances, it is always in your abilities to change it. Fortune favours the brave, so if you take your opportunity, you never know.”
“Winning the competition would be a good stepping stone in opening doors for me. The sky is the limit and if I can do it, so can you,” said Mr Maistry.
