Community radio station on the cards

Ibanovo Communications (Ibaco), a non-profit organisation formed in July 2013, plans on establishing a community radio station.

Ibanovo, based in Belgravia, hopes to establish the community radio station to focus on problems experienced by residents in areas such as Malvern, Denver, Jeppestown, Kensington and Bertrams.

Ms Thamo Kapisa, the marketing manager, said prior to obtaining a license to establish the radio station, the organisation needs to obtain information from the public and confirm how much interest there is.
