Police investigating attempted murder case
The Jeppe SAPS is investigating a case of attempted murder.
Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said a man was arrested in connection with an attempted murder and armed robbery that took place on April 15.
“A man was walking in Curry Street, Doornfontein, when he was approached by four men next to the railway station. One of the men was in possession of a firearm. The suspects grabbed him and tried to take his bags,” said W/O Munyai.
The man refused to let the suspects take his bags and a gunshot was fired. The victim was not injured.
“The suspects tried to run away. The man caught one of them. “While fighting with the suspect, a security guard arrived and assisted him with restraining the suspect. They took him to the Jeppe SAPS and a case was opened,” said W/O Munyai.
