Vehicle recovered

SAPS members were commended after recovering a vehicle that was hijacked in Troyeville recently.

Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said two brothers were sitting in a vehicle at the corner of Op De Bergen and Morduant streets on April 11.

An unknown man opened the driver’s door and pointed a firearm at the driver.

Another suspect went to the passenger door. “The suspects took two cellular phones and a wallet with cash. They ordered the men to exit the vehicle, which they did. The suspects drove off with the vehicle,” said W/O Munyai.

A case of hijacking was opened at the Jeppe SAPS and the tracker was activated.

The car was found abandoned in the Johannesburg CBD.

Police are still investigating the case.
