Residents commend city departments
Two local residents have commended city officials for attending to complaints logged.

Ms Maggie Brown, who reported problems in Jeppestown, said she was impressed with help she received from the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) and the Emergency Management Services.
“We tend to complain that the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) does not work well but when it matters, I find the officials helpful,” she said.
A few months ago Ms Brown complained about a man who insisted on playing loud music.
She called the JMPD and officers attended to the complaint. They issued the man with a written warning and said if he does it again, his bakkie and sound system would be confiscated.
Ms Brown has not experienced problems since.
Last week Ms Brown logged a complaint about a business at which tyres and rubbish were being burnt.
“I called Joburg Connect and was given the fire safety telephone number. One call to the fire safety department and the area manager was out here in 30 minutes. Fire out, warning given and he phoned to report back. He said they will close the business down if it happens again,” she said.
Mr Mike Spadino, the former Sector 3 Crime Forum and We Love Malvern Community Forum chairperson, complemented Joburg Water on work recently conducted in the suburb.
“I reported a couple of blocked sewerage drains and leaking water meters and employees fixed the problems promptly,” he said.
Ms Brown added that if you give your name and contact number to these departments, officials tend to take your complaints more seriously.
