Criminals leave stolen cars in Edenvale

One of the vehicles was recovered at the Greenstone Shopping Centre and the other was recovered at the Stoneridge Shopping Centre

Residents are asked to be alert for suspicious activity at shopping centres in the area.

“We have seen a growing trend where our shopping centres are used as a ‘cool down area’ for stolen cars,” said the acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts.

He added that in just one week, two stolen cars were recovered at shopping centres.

“One of the vehicles was recovered at the Greenstone Shopping Centre and the other was recovered at the Stoneridge Shopping Centre,” said Lt Col Roberts.

A third vehicle was recovered in the Edenvale CBD.

He urged all residents who witness suspicious activity to contact the Edenvale SAPS Sector Police immediately.
