Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said police officers were at the corner of Ernest Oppenheimer Avenue and Marcia Street when they noticed a suspicious vehicle with one occupant inside.
“The officers approached the driver and search him and the vehicle. They found about 300 boxes of tablets and sealed injections in the vehicle. The suspect failed to produce an invoice for the items,” said Const Mashakane.
The suspect lead police officers to his house in Bez Valley. The house was searched and live ammunition was seized.
“The police discovered the tablets they recovered were from a hijacked truck. This case was opened in Bedfordview,” said Const Mashakane.
The man (31) was arrested and detained at the Cleveland SAPS.
