The arrests took place at the corner of Yeo and Cavendish streets on Saturday, June 7.
“The victim was waiting for transportation to work when the suspects threatened him with a knife and demanded his cellular phone. They took the cellular phone and walked away,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville SAPS.
According to Const Malatji, residents noticed what had happened and alerted the police.
“The suspects fled in different directions and the residents helped with the arrest of one of the suspects,” said Const Malatji.
He said the suspect was detained at the Yeoville SAPS and is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon facing charges of robbery.
