Powell – a painter with a passion

Port Elizabeth-raised painter, Ms Cherylee Powell, was the artist in the spotlight when the Paint & Palette demonstration took place at the Edenvale Community Centre on Saturday, August 16.

Ms Powell is an avid horsewoman, who has done hundreds of horse and dog portraits which have gone as far as Germany, New Zealand, Hong Kong and America.

Ms Powell employs various styles in her work, which has over time become more abstract.

She describes herself as a bit of a hermit and mad cat-lady, who also teaches art from her studio in Lonehill. @BedfordJourno
