Ekurhuleni’s power failure faux pas

While Eskom and Ekurhuleni technicians worked to restore power to Edenvale on Wednesday last week, the information supplied on the situation only confused residents.
The Eskom media desk assured residents that power would be restored to Edenvale by Wednesday evening.
At the same time on Wednesday morning, the municipality’s call centre took to Twitter to tell residents that repairs would take five days.
Included in the tweet, the call centre said residents could count the five days from Tuesday.
Furious residents took to social media to express their discontent for the conflicting reports issued.
The EMM later apologised for the wrong information released and inconvenience caused to residents.
