Kleintjie remembered
Part of his duties at the traffic department in the earlier days was driving the mayor of Edenvale to various functions, including welfare events.
Edenvale resident, Mr Kleintjie Pienaar, died in August at the age of 76 after spending his whole life in Edenvale.
He was born in Tonder Avenue, where he lived until his death.
Mr Pienaar worked at the Edenvale Traffic Department for 38 years and retired in 1994.
Part of his duties at the traffic department in the earlier days was driving the mayor of Edenvale to various functions, including welfare events.
He was well respected in the Edenvale area.
Much of Mr Pienaar’s free time in his earlier days was spent pigeon racing.
He also enjoyed spending a few Rands on horse racing, sometimes getting lucky and other times not.
In his spare time, Mr Peinaar built many of the houses in Edenvale.
He was married to his wife for 51 years and together they had five children.
Mr Pienaar was described as a people’s person who was always friendly.
His family have thanked those in the community who supported Mr Pienaar during his time in hospital and continued to support the family during the time of his funeral.
