UPDATE: Brother speaks out after sister’s body is found in car boot
He last saw his sister on Friday morning when she dropped him off at his friend's house.
“I will remember her warm and beautiful smile. My sister was a loving and warm person. She was intelligent and sometimes I thought she was too intelligent for me.”
This how Tyron Mucambe (25) remembered his late sister, Mary-Lee Mucambe (20).
Mary-Lee was found dead in the boot of her car on Sunday, on Jules Street in Malvern .
Tyron relived the events that led to the gruesome discovery on Sunday.
He said he last saw his sister on Friday morning when she dropped him off at his friend’s house.
“I had some work to do there and she was going to meet her ex-boyfriend in Eastgate later that day. That was the last time I saw her alive,” he said.
He add that his sister’s disappearing without a word to anyone raised alarms.
“Not even her friends knew where she was and that is unlike her. We searched. We even reported her missing to the police,” he said.
He added that on Sunday he received a call from his friend who had spotted Mary-Lee parked on Jules Street.
“We left someone to watch the car while went to the police to report that we had found it,” said Tyron.
He said the police made the discovery while the family was watching.
“She had multiple stab wounds and her body was shoved into the boot of her car,” he said.
Tyron said the family is planing to hold Mary-Lee’s memorial service at home in Mondeor on Friday.
He added that the funeral arrangements have not yet been completed, but she may be buried in Mozambique, where her father comes from.
