Ekurhuleni expands payment options
The EMM’s chief financial officer, Ms Ramasela Ganda, said the first batch of the 22 kiosks have already been procured and will be distributed to malls once due processes have been completed.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) is expanding utility payment options.
Payment kiosks will be erected in major shopping centres across the EMM, which will include a kiosk at OR Tambo International Airport.
This kiosk will enable residents to make payments either by cash, debit card or credit card.
The EMM’s chief financial officer, Ms Ramasela Ganda, said the first batch of the 22 kiosks have already been procured and will be distributed to malls once due processes have been completed.
“We want to turn our malls into one-stop-shops, where residents can do grocery shopping and even pay for services,” she said.
The EMM has also urged residents to take advantage of e-Siyakhokha, an on-line payment service.
e-Siyakhokha is a 24-hour payment service which already has 150 000 registered, active users.
It enables home owners, companies and property manager s to access utility statements s and make payments electronically.
The service is also aimed at curbing erroneous cut-offs caused by incorrect referencing or delays in receiving payment.
Member of the mayoral committee responsible for finance, Clr Moses Makwakwa, said rate-payers banking with Standard Bank and Nedbank will have a short-cut to pay their bills.
Residents can add Ekurhuleni to Standard bank’s MY-Bills application and Nedbank’s e-Bills, which is also available through cellphone banking for quick payment.
“Residents are encouraged to make use of this new and innovative system, which will also soon be available from ABSA ad thereafter other participating institutions,” said Clr Makwakwa.
