Woman forced to open door for criminals

A voice from the other side of the door ordered her to open the door or else he would kill her.

A woman and her children were locked in a room during a robbery at her Beryl Street house in Bruma on Wednesday, December 3.

The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the woman was asleep when she heard a knock on her door.

“A voice from the other side of the door ordered her to open the door or else he would kill her. The woman opened the door and two men wearing balaclavas entered, pointing firearms at her. They locked her and her children into another room in her house. They then ransacked the house,” said Const Mashakane.

She added that the men took woman’s laptops and cellular phones, among other things, before fleeing the scene in the victim’s car.
