The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) has reached over 2,3-million people through its door-to-door campaigns on HIV, Aids, STIs and TB over the past year.
The campaign, run by volunteers, covered a range of issues including counselling and testing, prevention of mother to child transmission as well as general health and social issues.
The volunteers distributed 5-million male condoms and 250 000 female condoms.
The EMM will meet with 523 community support HIV programme volunteers, who made the campaign possible. Challenges and the success of the campaign, during the HIV and Aids conference, will be discussed.
The conference will be held on November 13 and 14 at the Springs Civic Centre.
