Pupils complete cycle challenge

Cullen finished the mountain bike race in three hours and 20 minutes and considers himself a mountain biker.

Sacred Heart College Grade 9 pupils, Cullen Hettema, Michael Lazarus and Mujahied Moses, competed in the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge.

Cullen participated in the 55 kilometre mountain bike race on Sunday November 9, followed by the 94.7 road race with Michael and Mujahied on Sunday, November 16.

Cullen finished the mountain bike race in three hours and 20 minutes and considers himself a mountain biker.

Michael and Mujahied joined Cullen for the road race and all three lads took five hours to reach the finish line.

“I love cycling, it teaches me perseverance and courage,” said Cullen.

“I also enjoy being in nature.”
