Cleveland SAPS wants community involvement

The Cleveland SAPS is hoping to build on its good relationship with the community in 2015, especially with regards to addressing crime in the area.

The Cleveland SAPS spokesperson, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the SAPS’ mission is to fight crime and make the entire Cleveland area a safe place for everyone.

“We have experienced a lot of cases emanating from substance abuse. We will continue to apply a zero tolerance approach with regards to crime,” she added.

She also urged the community to get involved in the fight against crime, adding that Malvern and Kensington are the areas most affected by crime.

“Without the help of the community, we will not succeed at all. Residents must try and report all information related to crime,” said Const Mashakane.
