Bedfordview residents have sung the praises of ward 20 councillor, Clr Jill Humphreys, for the service she provides to the community.
One resident, Mr Muxe Shivambu, said he appreciates Clr Humphreys’ involvement with the community.
“Although we have problematic roads and illegal disconnections at times, she is just a phone call away and is always eager to help,” he said.
Another resident posted on Clr Humphrey’s Facebook group, Basically Bedfordview, saying, “Jill Humphreys is truly the angel of Bedfordview. Thank you so much for getting the water leak in Morninghill sorted out. You are a star.”

Through her Take Back the Mountain initiative, Clr Humphreys revealed plans to have permanent security personnel deployed to the Bill Stuart Nature Reserve.
She said the area was haven for criminals.
“A woman was recently raped on her way to work in the same area. There is a need for armed security to be deployed to the reserve to maintain law and order. It is a shame because that mountain is really beautiful,” said Clr Humphreys.
She said contractors coming to do maintenance work on the servitudes were targeted by criminals who steal their cars and equipment.
“I am convinced that the only way to win the war against crime on the mountain is to have security present at all times,” she added.
