Saheti School’s 2015 Debutantes have affiliated themselves with the EPIC Foundation, founded by Alta McMaster.
The Epic Foundation heads many projects, but the focus with the Saheti Debs is the ‘Comfort Pack Project’.
The packs consist of comfort products and toiletries, which are then packed into handbags and distributed to police stations, rape crisis centres and shelters. These packs are then handed out to rape victims as they come in to the centre to report an incident.
Unfortunately, the demand for these bags is forever growing and there is also a need for men and children’s packs.
The Saheti Debs have been eagerly collecting all the items required through family and friend networks.
The girls have also been collecting at shopping centres and outside retail stores.
The drive will culminate with a morning of packing all the packs on Sunday, March 29th, at Saheti School.
The Debs are aiming to hand over more than 500 complete bags to the Epic Foundation.
Residents interested in donating, or getting involved, can contact the Saheti School Debutantes Ladies Committee on 011 479-3802, or email The Epic Foundation Info@epicfoundation.org.za or visit the website www.epicfoundation.org.za
