Bedfordview and Edenvale to be renamed Tamboview
According to the municipality's statement, the area will now be called Tamboview.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) has announced its intention to incorporate Bedfordview and Edenvale into one area.
According to the municipality’s statement, the area will now be called Tamboview.
A source within the EMM told the NEWS that the renaming is in line with the preservation of the legacy and memory of the fore bearers.
“We want future generations to remember where we come from as a nation,” said the source.
As to when the name change would come to effect, spokesperson Mr Themba Gadebe, said the council would announce the change in due course.
The new name is said to be in honour of the late, former president of the African National Congress (ANC), Oliver Reginald Tambo.
Marietta Lombard, the Editor of the Bedfordview and Edenvale News, said when the name change comes to effect, the newspaper will have no alternative but to also be renamed.
“Our newspaper was named in line with the community it serves. When the name change comes to effect, Caxton Newspapers will rename the title to the Tamboview Gazzette. This will be to keep the paper relevant to the areas we write for,” said Mrs Lombard.
She said the new masthead for the paper will be revealed in due course.
Mr Gadebe said input from relevant stakeholders took place on February 18.
