They built their own future

As the development was more of a short term project, the Nevada Group took the initiative to empower several of the construction workers, after the construction project ended.

Construction of the much anticipated Shell Lakeside Service Station started in August 2014.

The new development employed a large number of construction workers who earned a living during the project, to support themselves and their families.

As the development was more of a short term project, the Nevada Group took the initiative to empower several of the construction workers, after the construction project ended.

These hard workers were enrolled into a training course and were then employed on a full time basis as petrol attendants.

They built their own futures and are now taking home a stable monthly income.

After an intense and thorough training period, the construction workers graduated from laying the foundations of the Shell Lakeside Service Station, to dispensing fuel to the community.

This initiative has nurtured pride within the new staff, as they were involved from the very first excavation of the site to serving the very first fuel to customers.

Staff morale and employee appreciation is an important factor in creating a successful business.

The much loved Buonissimo Deli Pizza has opened up alongside Lakeside Service Station.
