MW De Wet hosts netball and rugby festival

Laerskool MW De Wet hosted a well-attended event for children to enjoy rugby and netball.

Laerskool MW De Wet Primary hosted a Tau rugby and mini netball event on May 16.

The purpose of the event was not to have a winner, but rather to encourage young children to participate in sport like rugby and netball.

“It is not a competition. It is to allow all the players to have a fair chance. That is why no score keeping is done,” said the organiser of the event, Mr Valmon Muller.

The event attracted nine schools, which consisted of 67 teams of different ages participating throughout the day.

Organiser of the mini netball, Ms Marnel Cronje, was also excited to see how great the attendance was.

Ms Tshengi Mthembu, who’s daughter Tshengi took part in the netball festival said, “It is always exciting to attend these events to see how well they can play.”
