Teen battling cancer needs help
A golf day is being planned to raise funds to help cover expenses
The family of a 15-year-old Kempton Park teenager, who is fighting a cancerous tumour on the brain, is in urgent need of money to help cover medical expenses.
Jayme Roos was diagnosed with Medulla Blastoma six months ago and his life was changed forever.
This is according to his brother, Damian.
“He is now fighting this horrible disease and needs your help to get through it. He has to be fed through his nose and weighs a mere 38kg. The medical aid is not paying for all the costs and my family struggles to keep up with the bills,” said Damian.
A golf day will be held at the Kempton Park Golf Club on June 12, in aid of Jayme’s medical and other expenses.
Jayme’s grade 9 register teacher at Edenglen High School, Reine Geldenhuys who also lives in Kempton Park, said Jayme has never complained about his illness and his family is positive, no matter how hard their lives have become.
“He really wishes to complete his grade 9 year with the rest of his class but he is not strong enough to attend school. Home schooling, however, costs a fortune and we need to raise funds,” she said.
To make a success of the golf day, the family needs players, sponsors and donations.
A four-ball costs R2 500 and a four-ball plus a hole costs R3 500.
