Man killed in Yeoville

Only a firearm was taken after a man was killed in Yeoville.

The Yeoville SAPS is investigating a murder and robbery case after a man was shot and killed on Thursday, shortly after 9pm.

According to the Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, only the victim’s licensed firearm was missing when the police arrived at the scene.

“When we arrived, he was lying on the road next to his car near the intersection of Hendon and Grafton streets. His car keys were in his hand. His cellular phone was in the car. The only thing missing was his firearm. The holster was still on the victim’s waist,” said Const Malatji.

He appealed to anyone with information to call the investigating officer, Detective Colonel Moses Raphadu, on 082 850 7969.
