Charity organisations called to Park Meadows
Charity organisations to commemorate 67 minutes at Park Meadows.
Park Meadows Shopping Centre will commemorate International Nelson Mandela Day in a different way.
Mr Leo Van Straten, the regional marketing manager of Redefine Properties, the owners of Park Meadows, called on all registered charity organisations to put up their stands at the mall for four days.
He said this will start from Wednesday, July 15 to Saturday, July 18.
“Charities will be allocated a space, worth R8 200 for free, to use for four days. They will also be allocated a table, two chairs and table cloth. They will use that space to display their banners and promote their organisation’s activities. They just have to set up and manage their stands from 10am to 5pm for those days,” he said.
The initiative coordinator, Mrs Sandi van Tonder, said this will give the charities and community members a chance to commemorate the day.
“Members of the community may register for their 67 minutes to help their organisation in some small or big way. Charities may ask for donations, have drop off points for collections or sell their products,” said Mrs Van Tonder.
She said for the charity organisations to be registered, they need to produce their NPO Certificate 18A.
