Scouts clear alien vegetation in local nature reserve

Members of the 1st Bedfordiew Scout Troop spent 10 hours on June 15 clearing alien vegetation from the Bill Steward Nature Reserve.

On June 15 members of the 1st Bedfordview Scout Troop spent 10 hours clearing invading alien vegetation from the Bill Stewart Nature Reserve.

This conservation project was organised by Mr Michael Omand, patrol leader for Sable Patrol, as part of his First Class Advancement Badge.

Ward councillor Jill Humphreys visited the Scouts as they cleared a grove of Australian Blue Gums and was thrilled to see the youngsters getting involved in the conservation of the nature reserve.
