City Power comments
A quotation will be issued to the customer. Once that has been done, a customer needs to go to the same place where he completed the form and pay the quotation.

Mr Sydney Mphahlele said the process of changing from post to prepaid should not take very long.
“A customer has to go to the nearest City Power Customer Service Centre and they will receive a form to complete. A City Power technician will make an appointment to come and assess the property as per their meter installation requirements.
“A quotation will be issued to the customer. Once that has been done, a customer needs to go to the same place where he completed the form and pay the quotation. After the payment is made, a customer will have their meter installed within 21 days,” he said.
Mr Mphahlele said if the customer is in arrears, the customer has to pay that dept or make arrangements with the city before the new meter is installed.
Mr Mphahlele said a meter costs between R2 500 and R6 500, depending on the type of meter a customer needs.
