Mentalist talks to pupils

"Your brain can do things that you never imagined it could. You can memorise school work better when you understand how to use your brain fully."

One of three mentalists in the country is a Bedfordview resident, who is making waves in the industry.

The NEWS caught up with Mr Michael Abrahamson during one of his talks at St Andrews School for Girls last Tuesday.

He spoke to grade 11 pupils about the power of the brain and its ability to perform great things.

“Your brain can do things that you never imagined it could. You can memorise school work better when you understand how to use your brain fully,” he told the pupils.

Mr Abrahamson did exercises with the pupils, showing off some of the skills he acquired during his career as a mentalist.

He said he runs courses for schools, universities, colleges and corporates to help improve people’s memory.

“We deal with how one can use one’s mind in the most productive way. I teach memory training, including how to cope in exams, how to study and retain information, how to motivate yourself in all areas of life and lots more,” said Mr Abrahamson.

He said the presentations he conducts at schools are done at no cost.

Asked what one needs to become a mentalist, Mr Abrahamson said a person just needs a good brain.

“You also need to be good mathematically and have a good command of the language to be able to communicate with people,” he said.

Mr Abrahamson is also a sports broadcaster as well as a talk show host.
