Spring into action for Casual Day
"Every year, Casual Day exceeds our expectations with the feeling of ubuntu, fun, camaraderie and the support it generates among South Africans."
Casual Day this year will mark 21 years of public support in September.
This year, the National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities (NCPPDSA), along with key partners and sponsors, are calling upon the whole of South Africa to ‘Spring Into Action’, get involved and support Casual Day.
“Every year, Casual Day exceeds our expectations with the feeling of ubuntu, fun, camaraderie and the support it generates among South Africans,” said Ms Therina Wentzel, the NCPPDSA’s national director.
She said it is a privilege for the NCPPDSA and Casual Day to share 21 years of democracy with the rainbow nation.
“Spring is a time of rebirth, of new beginnings and ‘Spring Into Action’ gives us the opportunity to celebrate people with disabilities and to create new possibilities for everyone under the tapestry of diversity that covers our nation,” said Ms Wentzel.
“When you wear a Casual Day sticker, or any of the other funky, branded merchandise we have available this year, you’re not only helping us raise funds for one of the country’s most vulnerable sectors of society, you’re also helping the NCPPDSA create an inclusive society by raising awareness around the opportunities, rights and challenges that exist for people with disabilities within our communities,” said Ms Wentzel.
Join in on the Casual Day celebrations and dress up in your full spring attire, by simply making a donation of R10 for the official Casual Day sticker.
