Former CPF deputy chairman arrested for murder

"We were called to the scene where we found the body of a woman lying in a pool of blood."

The former Yeoville Community Police Forum (YCPF) deputy chairperson, Mr Patrick Wisani, appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of murder.

The Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said Wisani handed himself over to the SAPS on Monday afternoon, after a woman was found dead in the couple’s rented house at the corner of Webb and Fortesque streets on Saturday.

“We were called to the scene where we found the body of a woman lying in a pool of blood. Eyewitnesses said the woman and the suspect were arguing on Friday evening. It is believed the man assaulted the woman before fleeing the scene,” said Const Malatji.

According to Const Malatji, the case was postponed to October 17 and Wisani was remanded into custody.
