Wisani back in court in October

Eyewitnesses said the woman and the suspect were arguing on Friday evening. It is believed the man assaulted the woman before fleeing the scene.

The former Yeoville Community Police Forum (YCPF) deputy chairperson, Mr Patrick Wisani, appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court yesterday on a charge of murder where the case against him was postponed to October.

The Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said Wisani handed himself over to the SAPS on Monday afternoon, after a woman was found dead in the couple’s rented house at the corner of Webb and Fortesque streets on Saturday.

“We were called to the scene where we found the body of a woman lying in a pool of blood. Eyewitnesses said the woman and the suspect were arguing on Friday evening. It is believed the man assaulted the woman before fleeing the scene,” said Const Malatji.

According to Const Malatji, the case was postponed to October 17 and Wisani was remanded into custody.
