Local Toastmaster ready for district finals
Contestants from as far as Zambia and Malawi will be competing in the finals.
Ms Sbusisiwe Nxumalo joined the Modderfontein Breakfast Club in August 2014.
At her first meeting as a member, she competed and won the club’s Impromptu contest and progressed all the way to the district finals in October 2014.
This year, Sisi has qualified for the district finals once again in the Impromptu contest and will be competing against finalists from southern Africa in East London on October 2.
Contestants from as far as Zambia and Malawi will be competing in the finals.
Impromptu speaking is an important part of the Toastmasters programme, as it helps a Toastmaster to think on their feet.
It also assists with building greater self-confidence and better inter-personal communication skills.
The Modderfontein Breakfast Club meets on the second and fourth Saturday at the Dros Restaurant located in the Eden Meadows shopping centre, from 8am for 8.30am until 11am.
For more information regarding the club and the programme, contact Ms Karen Armour at 074 153 0992.
