Business unit’s successes rewarded

The NBU won four awards at the AGM.

The Northern Business Unit (NBU) scooped prestigious awards at the CANSA national AGM.

The meeting was held at the CANSA head office in Bedfordview on September 17.

The NBU includes Gauteng, Limpopo and North West provinces.

The governor of the NBU, Mr Manny de Freitas, praised his team for its achievements.

β€œI am proud of my unit as it was extensively recognised at the AGM. Ms Adele da Silva received the Gold Award for middle management. She was rewarded for excellence in the work she does for CANSA. Bobby Were received the Support Services Gold Award while Ms Anjolien Brink was awarded the Gold Award for Sustainability,” said De Freitas.

He said the NBU also received the Gold Award for the most improved unit.

β€œIn an environment where NGOs are cutting back on their functions, activities and services, CANSA is expanding. It also continues to be highly respected and recognised as a leader, not only for what it does, but also on how it is managed and run as an organisation. This would not be possible if not for the amazing and dedicated staff at CANSA who go the extra mile,” said Mr De Freitas.
