WATCH : CCTV footage of suspects’ planned theft
"The footage revealed that after a few inspections by the suspects, they came back and used a bolt cutter to cut the lock off the pedestrian gate."

CCTV footage revealed that a caravan theft at Kempton Caravans was the result of suspects thoroughly inspecting the gate and locks of the premises before commencing with the operation.
The manager at Kempton Caravans, Mr Clive Van Der Vyver, said the suspects visited their premises multiple times on Sunday, October 11, with a white single cab Isuzu before the caravan was stolen.
“The footage revealed that after a few inspections by the suspects, they came back and used a bolt cutter to cut the lock off the pedestrian gate and replaced it with one of their own locks,” said Mr Van Der Vyver.
Later that day the suspects returned and unlocked the pedestrian gate. The suspects once again used the bolt cutter to break the lock on the main sliding gate.
“The final visit by the suspects was at 14:09. The alarm was triggered when the sliding gate was opened. The suspects reversed the vehicle onto the premises where one of the suspects hitched the caravan up to the vehicle and drove off, turning left into Minuach Street,” said Mr Van Der Vyver.
A case has been opened and investigations are underway.
Mr Van Der Vyver said a reward of R5 000 is on offer to anyone who has information that could lead to the recovery of the caravan, or the successful arrest and conviction of the suspects.
The caravan’s registration number is DXN 710 FS.
Anyone with information can contact the investigating officer, Constable LA Tlaka, or Kempton Caravans on 011 974-5595.
