Cyclist killed during alleged hit and run

The community of Edenvale and surrounds expressed shock and anger following the death of a cyclist this morning.

The man was killed on the intersection of Shelton Avenue and Minuach Street when a white VW Polo hit him while cycling.

The man is reported to have died on the scene.

After the incident lookout messages were sent for the car and its occupants who fled the scene.

Unconfirmed reports suggest two suspects were subsequently caught.

It is believed the occupants and motorists were allegedly high on narcotics at the time of the incident.
