Fire destroys shacks

Residents willing to help are urged to drop off clothing and other donations at the Cleveland SAPS.

 

Roughly 300 shacks were burnt to the ground this morning when a fire swept through Jumpas informal settlement.

Cleveland SAPS communication officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane said the fire started at 10am.

No injuries were reported.

Those affected will have to bear the harsh winds of the night while they rebuild what used to be their homes.
