A man has been arrested after attempting to purchase two cakes fraudulently in Meadowdale.
Last Wednesday, the man went into Checkers Hyper and was spotted by a security guard holding two cakes.
Warrant Officer Mduduzi Nhlabathi, spokesperson for the Bedfordview SAPS said the man walked over to the table displaying reduces items.
“The man removed a sticker from vetkoeks and pasted it on the the cakes he was holding. He proceeded to the till point and paid for the cakes for R20,” said W/O Nhlabathi.
He said the cakes were worth were worth R114.
The man was arrested and charged with fraud.
