The Hawks recently arrested a man found in possession of nine firearms in Yeoville.
The Yeoville SAPS spokesperson, Constable Thabo Malatji, said the man was arrested at a flat at the corner of Kenmere and St George streets.
“When the officers searched the flat they found six hunting rifles, three pistols, one revolver and ammunition. When asked about ownership, the suspect gave them firearm licenses that did not correspond with some of the firearms,” said Const Malatji.
He said officers also seized a rifle silencer and an undisclosed amount of money during the arrest.
